Sunrise on the Reaping
Suzanne Collins

This could be Suzanne Collins’ best installment in the Hunger Games universe! I became so invested in Haymitch’s doomed story, and you still root for him. It’s the kind of novel that makes all the other so much more poignant. Beautiful!

This book was quietly beautiful and a true love note to nature. It is a complicated story about a mother’s innocent mistake that changes her family forever. The novel feels mystical and so close to home that you feel you could be reading a true story. Love Vanderah’s writing!

This book was surprisingly gripping. I enjoyed the flashbacks to the character's life before Area X, and the descriptions of all the cosmic stuff. I felt right inside the main character's head.

It's been a long time (Harry Potter) since a book has grabbed hold of me like this and not let go. It feels like the perfect modern fantasy; knights, queens, castles, time travel, and more. Loved it.
