Happy National Friends of Libraries Week!
Here in Berthoud, our Friends group is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the people of Berthoud while also promoting a life-long love of learning. So far, The Friends of The Berthoud Community Library’s primary function has been to raise funds for the library’s programs, activities, and infrastructure – as government funding for our library doesn’t cover everything.
The Friends raise funds year-round through book sales. Make sure to check out their shelves featuring new fiction titles, cookbooks, gardening guides, children’s books and more (nothing goes for more than $2 an item) the next time you visit the library.
If you’re looking to get involved in the community, we’re actively seeking new Friends. Their next meeting is on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 at 6pm in our library’s community room.
The Friends’ biggest fundraiser of the year, the annual silent auction, is fast approaching. Going live with exclusively virtual bidding on Black Friday, November 24th, 2023, the Friends have already gathered some amazing donations of auction items: from a HydraFacial at Berthoud’s Remedy Skin Studio… to concert tickets at the legendary Mishawaka Amphitheater in the stunning Poudre Canyon… to a date night at Denver Film… and so much more, the Friends have got all of your holiday shopping and self-care needs covered.
